"picnic" is my first exploration into illusion based graphics on fashion. The idea is that a girls goes for a picnic and is quickly covered in thousands of ants, covering her dress. The ants are silkscreened onto the dress.
Poster Challenge
Every year SFSU's Student Fashion Association (SFA) holds a poster design contest for its spring fashion show. I entered two design concepts in the challenge, a poster and a postcard. My poster design was lucky enough to be chosen to represent the Runway 2006 - Intrigue event.
Stage Crew
I participated in the production of Intrigue through participation in the stage crew, as secretary. Beyond the responsibility of taking notes at the meetings and coordinating information between crew members, I was also able to participate in the music selection for the show. With two other girls, Yoshimi and Ahi, we created the playlist and coordinated with the designers participating in the show to give it the musical atmosphere desired. Working with the stage crew was a great and challenging introduction into the production of runway shows. I throughly enjoyed it!
